Sinclair Construction Company Profile
emodeling a house is a little like putting together a puzzle by committee. It can be inordinately frustrating for the homeowner, the builders and all the subcontractors to communicate meaningfully and get to the big picture together. Completing a remodel or renovation project smoothly, efficiently, on time and to customer satisfaction requires a cool-headed captain to guide the various committees toward that elusive finished product. Enter Jamison Sinclair of Sinclair Construction. Captain and Craftsman
Jamison Sinclair has been ready to be that captain nearly all his life. As a young kid growing up in Clayton California, he imagined, like so many young boys, that he'd wear the tool belt and run the table saw; he could picture himself on the backhoe. But Jamison also knew that he'd run things. Not content to just do the work, Jamison could mentally picture the puzzle pieces fitting together, falling neatly into place, with each involved team doing its best to produce the perfect final picture. His vision has enabled Sinclair Construction to enjoy one of the best reputations in construction companies in the area.
Jamison Sinclair stresses attention to detail. "Wherever we can, we use old-fashioned craftsmanship. We're not looking to use the latest tricks just to shave a little time or a few bucks." Such tactics usually backfire in the end; said Jamison, "It's usually no shortcut at all." Jamison further explains that his background is in hands-on construction. Starting out at 18, he learned how to build to last. If he didn't have access to the spiffy new tool that used lasers to measure and cut or whatever else technology had to offer to make the job "idiot-proof," he learned to do it the old-fashioned way. Doing it right the first time, learning the hard way sometimes, making sure the work would hold; these are Jamison's badges of honor for having been dedicated to his craft for most of his life. In all his years of running Sinclair Construction, he's never had a call-back from a customer.
In residential renovations and remodels, there are several individual projects which are nonetheless interdependent. Rather than employing subcontractors, who must necessarily keep their own schedules, Sinclair Construction removes a great deal of the gridlock that can slow down projects by doing their own plumbing, wiring, electrical, tiling and flooring. Jamison keeps these aspects of home remodeling and renovation in-house because it is most efficient, but also because he views his work as a craft. He doesn't just oversee each step, he navigates the course from start to finish, taking a personal interest in the process.
Foundation and Support for Business and Community
Sinclair Construction is proud to employ several skilled tradesmen, all of whom have been working with Jamison for a minimum of 5 years. Sinclair is also a proud supporter of the Saint Mary's College Gaels in Moraga. Jamison Sinclair is nowhere near slowing down. He says he loves his work, and Sinclair Construction has a steady pace of one to two projects happening at a time. This allows Jamison to keep involved with each project, and provides him the opportunity to spend some time with his two daughters. Will they grow up to play for St. Mary's? "They can do whatever they want!" With Jamison behind them, they'll no doubt do just that.
