Vitale & Sons Company Profile
hen Greg Vitale founded Vitale & Sons Landscaping thirty years ago, the "sons" were still quite young. Greg's sons grew up, and along the way they helped dad out and learned something about the business. By the time Greg was ready to retire, one son had moved on to his own contracting business and the other, while he wanted to keep working for Vitale & Sons, didn't want to abandon the physical and personal aspects for the numbers and office aspects of the landscaping business. To balance everyone's interests and talents, Greg scouted around for possible other interests. Peter Haeberlin, who met Greg and family as an interested party and possible investor, bought Vitale & Sons with the understanding that Greg Vitale's son Josh Vitale would stay on to keep the family business running as it had always been run, and Peter Haeberlin would make the business run smoothly from an accounting and marketing perspective. Peter, who has lived all over the world with his family, knows a thing or two about quality of life. When he saw an opportunity to make a living providing a great service for Vitale & Sons customers, while doing what he does best, he jumped into Vitale and hasn't looked back. Peter Haeberlin has a banking background, and numbers are his bag. When you talk to Peter, you get a no-nonsense, straightforward conversation. Josh Vitale seconds this characterization adding, "Peter is the tidy and on-top-of-it type that we need around here." Peter Haeberlin is obviously an asset to Vitale & Sons, but to understand a little of what makes Vitale's customers so happy; it is worth a look at Josh's perspective, too.
Josh Vitale says he is a friendly and person-oriented sort, who loves the interaction with clients. He attributes this to his father's influence. "I worked on landscape maintenance runs with dad for about fifteen years," said Josh. "I definitely learned from him how to talk to people and offer the right kinds of suggestions and ideas," he elaborated. The job was always teaching him something new, and he says it still holds surprises.
Illuminating Ideas
Aside from learning great customer service and all manner of hardscape and landscape design, Josh has some clever techniques to maximize enjoyment of any outdoor environment. Josh Vitale notes that so many people work so much that by the time they have a bit of free time, it's dark outside. A dark yard is less than inviting, but low-voltage lighting, carefully placed and tastefully implemented can make a yard so much more useful and enjoyable for a homeowner. With good design and quality installation, you can come home to a yard that is beautiful and inviting, even if the most frequent views are in the evening. Vitale & Sons are experts in the implementation of low-voltage lighting and many other brilliant ideas for making the best use of any outdoor area.
Another aspect that can bring more use and enjoyment out of a yard is something that Josh calls sound features. To the extent that gardens and yards are opportunities to indulge one's senses, a sensory experience that is often neglected is auditory input. Birdsong, the gentle hum of contented honeybees and the whoosh of breezes through tree tops are all terrific accompaniments to one's experience outdoors. But these are not all the options. Whether or not you have trees for birds and breezes, there are other ways of generating calming sounds within any garden. Vitale & Sons can create water features with fountains and small ponds to create much the same effect. The subtle sound of water in motion is a popular way to lower blood pressure and make one's quality of life better.
Josh Vitale and Peter Haeberlin, and the rest of the crew at Vitale & Sons Landscaping can help you get more out of your outdoors. Just give them a call and see what Vitale & Sons has to offer.
