Landmark Landscape Company Profile

o?> wner and founder of Landmark Landscape, June King, designs incredible landscapes, with more spirit, enthusiasm and creativity than most artists with half her experience. Her very name suggests that verdant and luxurious month of summer: June. "I have a drive to create compositions with balanced textures and colors," said June. An untested landscaper might be as enthusiastic, but unflagging creativity is harder to come by in many veteran landscapers, who have experience but lack verve and passion. Not so with June King; she's no amateur in the realm of landscaping, having put in more than twenty five years in the business. And they have been interesting, inspiring years. One talk with June and you'll understand why she's a great choice for anyone searching for the perfect creative partner in beautiful design ideas and wonderfully livable spaces.

Designed for Living
June King of Landmark Landscape knows how to make any outdoor environment flourish, but what makes her a more dynamic landscaper than many others is her design sense. She is especially proud of her ability to create living environments with a human scale and functionality. "I listen to how my clients live, and how they want to live," she said. "I make spaces that are useable and livable; that's my forte," she elaborated.

Observing her superb eye for balance and harmony, June's clients encouraged her to try her hand at interior designs as well. June King, ever the optimist, went for an ambitious project with gusto. Per her client's request, she designed a game room that called for a free-standing structure designed and built from the ground up, including furniture for the interiors and a bocce court. It was an unqualified hit. June admits to being proud of her efforts and says that it opened her eyes to a new direction for her work. She now sees a new focus on bridging inside and outside environments through innovative re-organization or remodeling. Sometimes a French door makes a bigger difference in one's appreciation and use of their yard, than merely planting more flowers. Or perhaps a more inviting walkway or window from an adjoining room will connect inner and outer realms. June's facility with this bridging of home and garden is transforming many homes and gardens in the Sonoma County area through the deft touch of Landmark Landscape.

In addition to her designing talents, June King uses her creativity for practical pursuits related to environments. In most places, water is a fundamental element, even if you don't see much of it. That is, just because there isn't a fountain or pond in a design doesn't mean that June isn't using the element in other creative ways, sometimes for irrigation, sometimes for remediation of some issue. June says she has found that she is adept at dealing with water quality issues and fixing deficiencies in well water, in addition to using water for decorative features and irrigation. Another element best left to designers and artists like June King is lighting. Lighting for the garden is done with particular products and a subtle hand. Landmark Landscape does exceptional work with low-voltage outdoor lighting systems.

Does June King like her work? "I love it! I work outside and make people happy," she said. When you're ready for an enthusiastic and dynamic team to design your bridge between inner and outer, or your perfect backyard composition (complete with evapo-transporation monitors - a "green" irrigation option), call Landmark Landscape of Sonoma County.
