Save Energy Company Company Profile
n 1983, John Gorman, President and co-owner of Save Energy Company, was just graduating from college in New York when his brother, Pat Gorman, called from California asking if he would like to come out and work in the new insulation business he was starting. It was a call that changed his life. Though John had just earned a degree in literature, he accepted and the two worked together for 16 years doing insulation upgrades for homes.During this time they had "dabbled in windows," as they are an integral part of good home insulation. In 1998, they decided to start installing high-quality, state-of-the-art windows as the primary focus of their business. To this end they adopted a business philosophy that ensures the best customer service and skilled labor available.
Company Philosophy
"Our philosophy has always been that we can do this at a higher level," said John, "with greater customer satisfaction. We have a firm commitment to our customers. Essentially, our philosophy is the golden rule; we treat our customers as we would like to be treated. We show up when we say we will and we do good work. That's simple to say, but takes effort to implement and we work hard to make it happen."Highly Trained, Skilled Installers
Save Energy Company employees 15 skilled and dedicated window installers, all of whom went through a rigorous hiring process and special training. "We usually try to hire rookies," said John Gorman. "We want to train them in our way of doing things. We look for a certain attitude of being willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. They have to be courteous and able to communicate effectively with people."Most of their employees have been with the company for a long time. "It's a good place to work," said John. "We treat our people well." Save Energy Company never subcontracts their work. When you hire them, Save Energy Company employees, in company uniforms, are the ones who will do the job.
Window technology has come a long way in recent years. Old windows may leak and cause drafts. They are hard to clean, paint and maintain. They may no longer lock securely and be difficult to open and shut. The new designs are more effective in dampening noise; they are extremely efficient at insulating homes (heating and cooling costs can drop as much as 30%), and incorporate features that give your home enhanced security. In addition, installing new windows can dramatically improve your home's appearance. "Windows are one of the few things, along with doors, that improve both the inside and the outside appearance," John pointed out.
Many High-Quality Styles And Brands From Which To Choose
Save Energy Company carries a wide range of windows from the best manufacturers, including Simonton, Empire Pacific, Milgard, and Marvin. Having lots of choices of brands and types means customers can be sure to find the right windows for their particular situation or style of home. They are experts at retro-fitting homes using the least invasive methods to lessen the impact on the structure and amount of work required.A Part Of TheCommunity
Save Energy Company moved their offices to Petaluma, California a few years ago, and have become part of the community. They have sponsored Little League teams, donated to local Hospice organizations and to Rebuilding Together, an organization that helps refurbish homes for disadvantaged people. Save Energy Company is fully insured and bonded. They are happy to provide a list of references to call and verify the quality of their work and customer service. "We like being part of the community," said John. "People know us and stop in to say hi. One of the things we feel strongly is that the world is a better place because of what we're doing here. We're sensitive to our customers' fears and feelings. We treat them the way we want to be treated."
